We recognize the passion of our physicians, their desire to solve problems, and excitement to be leaders in their field. In addition to access to large, industry-sponsored trials, Mercy Physicians have the opportunity to pursue self-initiated studies they recognize to be important for improving patient care. Mercy expects its Physician Researchers to be committed to meeting all study goals through active recognition and recruitment of appropriate subjects, as well as being mindful of clinical studies that provide opportunities for improved care via non-traditional treatment paths and patient financial assistance.
“We treat many diseases where the treatment choices are limited or often not as effective as we would like. By participating in clinical research with MMRI, we are able to offer our patients treatments that might not otherwise have been available to improve their care and start collecting data to help many other patients with the same disease. Clinical research allows us to answer the question, ‘are we giving the best treatment to our patients or is there a better way’?” ~Gregory Ledger, MD, Endocrinology
